The Tour of Mont Blanc is a circumnavigation of the Mont Blanc massif, the highest mountain range in Europe west of the Caucasus. The 200km hike crosses three countries (France, Italy and Switzerland) whose borders meet along the chain of beautiful mountains that make up the Alps. During the hike, Gaëlle will make a total of 10,000m of ascent (higher than Everest!) and reach an altitude of 2,500m as she crosses mountain passes into stunning alpine valleys.

Below are some photos taken during my mountaineering trip to the region in the summer of 2006; depicting some of the sights we will be treated to on the Tour of Mont Blanc this summer.
